ROV05E Course Location

ROV05E is almost the same as ROV05S except that it has a home study module. Thus, you can start taking the course online, while the onsite training of this course will only run for three (3) weeks. Like the rest of our ROV courses, ROV05E will be conducted at our ROV training premises in Subic Bay (Zambales, Philippines).

ROV05E Course Modules

The content of our ROV05E course is in line with guidance documents such as the following:

  • ROV Familiarisation Basic Introductory Module (R1002)
  • Basic ROV Pilot Technician Module (R010)
  • ROV Pilot Technician Grade 2 – IMCA R04 Competency Training Module (R04)
  • SubNet Hydraulics, Electrical, and HV Safety (SNR04)

ROV05E Course Competencies

Upon your completion of the ROV05E course, you will demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and awareness of the following:

ROV Familiarisation Basic Introductory Module (R1002)

  • Changes issues and standards
  • Knowledge of company accident reporting
  • Offshore hazard identification
  • Subsea equipment
  • Typical offshore operations and installations
  • Typical offshore vessels

Basic ROV Pilot Technician Module (R010)

  • High voltage electricity
  • Electricity in hazardous areas
  • Crane operations, lifting, and winches
  • ROV launch and recovery systems (LARS)
  • Rigging and slinging
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Health, safety, and environmental awareness
  • Manual handling

ROV Pilot Technician Grade2 – IMCA R04 Competency Training Module (R04)

  • Safety
  • Emergency response
  • Communication and personnel skills
  • Piloting a ROV (piloting/technical)
  • ROV systems
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Safe operating techniques
  • Administration
  • Project activities

SubNet Hydraulics, Electrical, and HV Safety (SNR04)

High Voltage and High Voltage Safety for ROV Pilot Technicians

  • Knowledge of electrical principles
  • Knowledge of electrical safety
  • Ability to identify all electrical components in a typical ROV system
  • Ability to safely test cables for faults and test after change out

Hydraulics for ROV Pilot Technicians

  • Knowledge of basic hydraulic principles
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, symbols, and drawings
  • Ability to identify all components on a typical ROV hydraulic system
  • Ability to perform maintenance activities like replacing oil, filters, top-up, etc.
