Fiber Op-Tips: How to Prepare for the CFOT and CPCT Exam?
The Fiber Optic Association (FOA), being the international professional society for fiber optics, provides different kinds of certifications that show the progression or growth of an individual in his knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) in fiber optics and premises cabling. Two of the primary certifications that FOA provides are the Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) and the Certified Premises Cabling Technician (CPCT).
SubNet Services, being the only FOA-approved school in Metro Manila, offers both CFOT and CPCT courses in less than a week. Each training usually ends up with students taking the FOA certification exam, which will then determine if they will finally be certified as technicians in their chosen fields. Hence, the exam is crucial to being an internationally certified fiber optic technician or premises cabling technician (structured cable installer).
So what is this certification exam all about? CFOT and CPCT are both a 100-item test consisting of multiple choice, matching, and true-false questions. To be able to pass it, a student must answer at least 70 questions correctly.
We have created two infoposters to help you prepare for these exams after your SubNet training. Here are some tips for you straight from the FOA itself.
