Why is Fiber Optics Training Right for Your Business?
Fiber optics training is important for any fiber optics business primarily because it will help you address the most common problem you may encounter – finding certified workers. Hence, if you want to grow your fiber optics business cost-effectively, providing fiber optics training to your workers is your next best option.
But first, what are the different types of fiber optics training out there? Let us share with you these certifications that will help you, your workers, and your fiber optics business in general.
Certified Military Fiber Optics Installation Professional (MFOI)
This training will teach your workers the different types of fiber optics technologies used in the military and its affiliated government agencies. It covers the use of tactical fiber optics connector assemblies (TFOCA) and standards in military deployment. If your fiber optics business involves military contracts, this training will be beneficial to your workers.
Certified Fiber Optics Technician (CFOT)
The CFOT training will help your workers identify fiber types, recognize various connectors used in fiber installation, as well as install, terminate, splice, and properly fault test installed fiber cable to existing standards. According to the Fiber Optic Association (FOA), this is the certification for general fiber optics applications. Subnet Services, being the only FOA-approved school in Metro Manila, can offer this training to your workers if you want them to understand and/or use fiber technology within their job.
Certified Premises Cabling Technician (CPCT)
The CPCT training will provide your workers with hands-on knowledge, ability, and competence to install, design, and troubleshoot structured premises cabling and wireless local area networks of computers (LAN) installations. It is the FOA certification for designers, installers, and operators of premises cabling networks. CPCT is currently among the fiber optics courses that Subnet Services offers.
Certified Fiber Optics Designer (FOD)
This training covers the design of network configurations to meet the exacting standards of the telecommunication industry. This will teach your workers an in-depth knowledge of utilizing hardware, determining fiber pathways, and stress-testing the network prior to fielding. If your fiber optics business centers around fiber optic network design, this training may be of greater help to you and your workers. Subnet Services will be offering this training very soon. Data Cabling Installer Certification (DCIC)
This is the certification designed for supervisors and managers, as it will provide them with hands-on knowledge and skills to work with various contractors and evaluate the work of technicians. It will enable them to implement large-scale installation projects that work in tandem with copper cabling or legacy systems. According to Infotec, there is a large emphasis on regulatory compliance and safety in the curriculum on this certification.
Is there any training that is fitting for your fiber optics business? Of course, not all of your workers have to take these courses since each certification is specialized and must only be provided to those whose skills and positions match the course requirement. Nevertheless, providing fiber optics training to your workers is an important move on your part to help your workers grow professionally and to also grow your fiber optics business. Let’s talk more about that on our upcoming blog post.
